Breeches

Full-seat breeches have grip material extending from the seat to the inner thighs, providing extra stability in the saddle—ideal for dressage. Knee-patch breeches have grip material only on the knees, suitable for jumping or general riding where more freedom of movement is desired.

Riding breeches should fit snugly without being restrictive. They should allow full mobility while reducing excess fabric that could cause discomfort. The waistband should sit comfortably without digging in, and the length should reach just above the ankle.

High-quality breeches are typically made from breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics with stretch properties, such as a blend of cotton, nylon, and elastane. These materials provide comfort, durability, and flexibility needed for riding.

While it's possible, regular pants may not offer the comfort, grip, or durability that riding breeches provide. Breeches are specifically designed to enhance performance and safety, reducing the risk of chafing and improving your connection with the saddle.

Always check the care label, but generally, breeches should be washed inside out on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners, as they can affect the fabric's stretch and grip. Hang to dry to maintain shape and elasticity.
